GREYSIG.
A fashion label that takes card and bank transfer, in two currencies
Full-stack e-commerce with Flutterwave card payments and per-order Providus virtual accounts.
GREYSIG.
E-commerce
- Payment rails
- Card + bank transfer
- Currencies
- NGN / USD
- Backend
- Django REST API
The problem
GREYSIG. is a fashion label selling to buyers inside and outside Nigeria. Off-the-shelf storefronts either could not take Nigerian bank transfers properly, or forced every customer to pay in Naira — which loses the international buyer at checkout.
The harder problem was reconciliation. Bank transfer is how a large share of Nigerian customers actually pay, but a shared account number means manually matching payments to orders by hand, every day.
What I built
I built the storefront in Next.js and the backend as a Django API, so the shop, the admin panel and the payment logic are all one system rather than a set of plugins fighting each other.
Customers can pay by card through Flutterwave, or by bank transfer to an account that is issued per order through Providus. Prices render in Naira or US dollars against a live exchange rate, so an international buyer sees a number they understand while the books stay in Naira.
The parts that were hard
Per-order virtual accounts
Each order gets its own Providus account number, so an incoming transfer identifies itself. The settlement webhook is written to the bank's stated conformance requirements and marks orders paid automatically — no manual matching.
Dual-currency pricing
A persisted currency store and live FX feed let the same catalogue display in NGN or USD, while settlement and accounting stay in a single base currency.
Accounts that actually work
Email/password and Google sign-in through NextAuth, email verification, password reset, saved order history, and public order tracking by order number for guests.
My role
