Healthtech client

Health insurance you can actually buy online

A Nuxt 4 platform for browsing hospitals, comparing benefits and enrolling in cover.

This client is under NDA, so the product isn't named or linked here. I'm happy to walk through the build in detail on a call.

The problem

Buying health insurance in Nigeria usually means a phone call, a PDF and a wait. The client wanted enrolment to happen online, which meant plans, benefits and the hospital network all had to be legible to a normal person on a phone.

The hospital network is the part people actually care about — nobody buys cover without knowing whether their hospital is on it.

What I built

I worked on the frontend in Nuxt 4 and Vue 3, building the marketing surface and the product flows that let a visitor compare plans, search the hospital network, read what a benefit actually covers, and enrol.

Hospitals and benefits are pulled live from the API rather than hardcoded, so the network can change without a redeploy.

The parts that were hard

Live hospital and benefits network

Searchable, API-driven hospital and benefit listings so the network shown to a prospective customer is always the current one.

Vue, not just React

Delivered in Nuxt 4 with Pinia and Headless UI — this one is proof the stack follows the job rather than the other way round.

Shipped with a team

Branch-per-feature with pull request review against an existing codebase and existing conventions, rather than greenfield work owned alone.

My role

Frontend engineer within the client's team.
