The problem
Print is not a normal e-commerce product. An individual ordering fifty business cards and a company ordering branded staff wear need different flows, different pricing conversations and different accounts — but the same catalogue.
Customers also need to specify a job before they can be quoted, which a standard add-to-cart flow does not handle.
What I built
I built separate individual and company registration journeys that lead into the same shop, so a corporate buyer gets an account that fits how they actually purchase.
Alongside the standard cart and checkout, there is a quote request path for jobs that need pricing by hand, plus product customisation with colour selection for print-ready specification.
The parts that were hard
Two customer types, one catalogue
Distinct B2C and B2B signup and account flows without duplicating the product or ordering system underneath.
Quote requests alongside checkout
Jobs that cannot be priced automatically route to a quote flow rather than dead-ending the customer at a broken cart.
Specify before you buy
In-browser product customisation with colour picking, so what the customer ordered and what the shop prints are the same thing.
